Quick answer: At Exclusive Steering, a custom steering wheel costs $899 to $1,499 for most cars, and $2,299 to $4,499 for exotics like Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren and Rolls-Royce. Those prices include the steering wheel core, so you don't have to send in your own wheel. Your final price depends on the shape, materials and add-ons you choose. Shipping is free in the US, every wheel has a 3-year warranty, and production takes 5–8 weeks.
Below is what goes into that price, what each upgrade costs, and how to budget without surprises.
Base prices by vehicle (2026)
Every vehicle listing on our site has its own base price. Across our 155 vehicle-specific listings, prices fall into four bands:
| Price band | Share of listings | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| $899–$999 | About 4 in 10 | Jeep Wrangler JK 2007–2010 ($899), Chrysler 300 2007 ($899), Dodge Charger/Challenger 2015–2023 ($999), Tesla Model 3/Model Y ($999) |
| $1,049–$1,099 | About 3 in 10 | BMW M2/M3/M4/M5/M8 2018–2024 G-series ($1,099), 2024+ Tesla Model 3/Model Y ($1,099), Corvette C5 and C6 ($1,099) |
| $1,199–$1,499 | About 2 in 10 | Corvette C8 ($1,199), Corvette C7 ($1,249), 2023+ Tesla Model S/X ($1,299), Tesla yoke-to-round conversion ($1,499) |
| $2,299–$4,499 | Exotics | Lamborghini Huracán ($2,299), Lamborghini Urus ($2,499), McLaren 570S/650S/MP4-12C ($2,699), Rolls-Royce Phantom ($3,299), Ferrari F430 ($3,999), Lamborghini Aventador ($4,499) |
You can see every listing in Shop All, or start from your brand, such as BMW, Tesla, Corvette or Lamborghini.
If your car isn't listed, our All Makes and Models option is $949. With that option you send us your current wheel to rebuild, and the core isn't included in the price.
Why exotic wheels cost more
The biggest driver of the base price is the core, the factory wheel we start from. A Lamborghini Aventador or Ferrari F430 core costs far more to source than a Jeep or Dodge core, and those wheels often take more hand work. A long list of options doesn't explain the gap. Mostly, you're paying for a more expensive starting point.
What's included in the base price
On a vehicle-specific listing, the base price covers:
- The core. We source a wheel for your car, so you keep driving on your current wheel while we build.
- Your choice of shape, from OEM, Round and Flat Bottom (no upcharge) to Flat Top, 3-Piece, Competition or Lux (small upcharges, listed below).
- Standard materials: the carbon fiber, leather and Alcantara choices that show no upcharge in the builder (for example 2x2, 1x1 or 4x4 carbon fiber), plus a stripe and stitching in the color you pick.
- A proof-of-concept image of your design, sent to you for approval before production starts.
- Hand building in Pennsylvania by a team with 18 years of experience, plus free US shipping and a 3-year warranty.
You move your buttons and trim over from your current wheel, or you can add finished trim (see below). The airbag and shifter electronics aren't part of the build.
What add-ons cost
These are the option prices in our online builder as of October 2026. They are added to the base price.
| Option | Added cost |
|---|---|
| Flat Top or 3-Piece shape | +$50 |
| Competition or Lux shape | +$100 |
| Forged, red reflective or blue reflective carbon fiber | +$100 |
| Forged carbon with color flakes | +$150 |
| Specialty Alcantara or leather colors | +$100 |
| Lux-shape finger insert | +$150 |
| Retain factory heated function | +$200 |
| Finish shifter paddles (if equipped) | +$200 (+$250 extended) |
| Finish trim pieces (carbon, paint or wood grain) | +$200 |
| Custom airbag cover | +$300 |
| Custom logo | +$100 decal under clear coat, +$150 embroidery |
| LED competition display (Flat Top, Competition or Lux) | +$400 |
Some notes on the add-ons:
- Heated function: You can keep heat only if your wheel was heated from the factory. Heat goes into the leather and Alcantara areas only. To learn more, read our post on adding a heated steering wheel.
- Paddles: We finish or extend your factory paddles. Shifter electronics aren't included.
- Materials: If you're torn between carbon, Alcantara and leather, our material comparison covers how each one feels and wears. Thread and leather material samples are also available before you commit.
Two example builds
Here's how real totals come together, using current listing and builder prices:
- Track-inspired C8 Corvette: Corvette C8 wheel at $1,199, Competition shape +$100, forged carbon +$100, heated function +$200, finished paddles +$200. Total: $1,799.
- Tech-forward Tesla: 2024+ Model 3/Model Y wheel at $1,099, Flat Top shape +$50, LED competition display +$400. Total: $1,549.
Shipping within the US is free on both.
Costs outside the wheel price
Plan for these when you budget:
- Shipping outside the US: $80 to Canada and from $120 to other countries. International buyers may owe customs duties or import taxes, which the buyer pays.
- Installation: We aren't an installer. The steering wheel houses critical safety systems, so we strongly recommend a certified professional technician. Ask your local shop for a quote.
- Time: Production takes 5–8 weeks from order. Since we source the core, you won't be without a wheel while you wait.
Warranty and returns
Every wheel comes with a 3-year warranty. It covers the build, including our own LED unit. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear, scratches, UV fading, third-party LED units or the Corvette C7 custom airbag cover.
Every wheel is made to order, so all sales are final. If there's a defect or an error on our side, tell us within 15 days of delivery and we'll replace or exchange the wheel. Full details are on our returns page.
How to get an exact price
- Find your car in Shop All, or use All Makes and Models if your car isn't listed.
- Build it in the configurator. The price updates as you choose your shape, materials and add-ons.
- If you'd rather not design it yourself, upload photos you like or choose "Help Me Build It," and we'll send a proof of concept for approval.
For anything the builder doesn't show, email sales@exclusivesteering.com.
